So here we are again, it’s time for the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl has become so popular now that it is more of a social event then a sports championship. People use the Super Bowl as an excuse to get together with friends and family and have a good time. So here are some interesting facts about the Super Bowl that you can use as conversation during your get together.
Tom Brady, who is in his 40s will be the oldest player in this years Super Bowl. New England linebacker James Harrison is a year younger. By comparison, the oldest player on the Philadelphia Eagles roster is 36-year-old offensive tackle Jason Peters who is not on the active list. Peters has been in the league since 2004 and with the Eagles since 2009.
The youngest player for this game is defensive end Derek Barnett who play for the Eagles. Barnet just turned 21 at the end of June.
The halftime show has become a big part of Super Bowl over the years and each year there’s a huge amount of interest over who will be performing. This year the honor goes to Justin Timberlake who will be making his third appearance in a Super Bowl. First as part of N Sync in 2001, and then in 2004 when the term “wardrobe malfunction” became part of the English language.
Before the game kicks off, America the Beautiful” will be sung by Leslie Odom Jr. Odom is well known for his portrayal of Aaron Burr in the hit Broadway musical Hamilton. Interestingly enough, in last years Super Bowl “American the Beautiful” was sung by Phillipa Soo, Renee Elise Goldsberry and Jasmine Cephas Jones who are also cast members in Hamilton.
