If you ask any beer lover what foods go good with beer, they’ll tell you any food goes good with beer. Although it may be true that most foods go good with beer, there are some that match up better than others.
As with most things that involve people, food and drink, everyone has a different opinion. It can also depend on the occasion, where your live and even the time of year it is. Yes, it’s true that beer goes well with many things but we’re going to try to narrow it down just a bit.
For those who like a little Mexican food and some spice in their diet there’s fish tacos and good lager. Modern craft lagers that follow the tradition of the canned beers our fathers enjoyed make a good match for fried foods like some fish tacos with a little lime thrown in to bring out the flavor.
IPAs are all the rage recently with their robust flavors. A tangy citrus flavored IPA can do a lot to enhance and bring out the richness of carne asada.
For those wanting a flavorful adventure in dining there’s nothing better then some barbecued ribs with an iced cold beer. Properly seasoned and grilled pork ribs can satisfy even the most demanding tastes and very few things can compliment the flavor the way a cold beer can.
Sushi and beer aren’t known for the combination, but it does work. There’s something about Japanese beer that seems to bring out the flavor of sushi in the most delightful ways. Of course, there’s Saki too but you can save that for an after-dinner drink or toast to something.
If you don’t like beer chances are you won’t find many of these options interesting, but for the rest of us there’s a whole world of food and drink experiences out there just waiting for us.
